William H. Smith

William H. Smith, 73, of Grants Pass died Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Royale Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at Stephens Family Chapel. Cremation will follow. He was born April 7, 1943, in Beaver Falls, Pa., to Edward and Martha Smith. He served in the Marine Corps from Jan. 12, 1955, until his honorable discharge on July 22, 1955. For the past 25 years, he has lived in Josephine County. On March 28, 1993, in Glendale, he married Barbara Rosman, who survives. He was a past member of the Moose Lodge and St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, bird watching and watching Fox News. In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, William and Robert Smith, both of Florida, and Edward Smith of Roseburg; a stepson, Howard Gunter of Grants Pass; a stepdaughter, Kathleen Gregory of Grants Pass; a grandchild, seven stepgrandchildren and a stepgreat-grandchild.
