William Owen "Bill" Byers

William "Bill" Byers, 67, of Grants Pass passed away Thursday August 18, 2011 at his home. Graveside services with military honors will be held Wednesday, August 24th, 2:00 PM at Eagle Point National Cemetery. A reception will follow at the family home. He graduated from West Linn High School in 1962. William then served in the US Army Reserves getting called to active duty in 1964. He served two tours in Vietnam, receiving his honorable discharge on October 9, 1972. On December 1, 1979 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada he married Catherine Webb who survives. They moved to Grants Pass from Brightwood, Oregon in 1999. William loved fishing, golfing, fishing, golfing, golfing and golfing. In addition to his wife survivors include his daughter Heather Davis of Grants Pass; two grandchildren Carley and Coleman Davis of Grants Pass; two brothers Robert Byers of Aloha, OR and Jim Byers of Desert Hot Springs, CA
