Walter A. Wilson, 60, of Grants Pass died Friday, May 9, 2008, at his home. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Eagle Point National Cemetery, with Glen Litwiller, pastor of Edgewater Christian Fellowship, officiating. Contributions may be made to Lovejoy Hospice, 939 S.E. Eighth St., Grants Pass, OR 97526. He was born Feb. 28, 1948, in Hampton, Iowa, to Frank Wilson Jr. and Viola Wilson. He graduated from Artesia High School in California. On May 9, 1966, he joined the Air Force and served during the Vietnam War before being honorably discharged on March 6, 1970. On Dec. 9, 1972, in Canoga Park, Calif., he married Peggy Jo Schultz, who survives. He worked for PSA Airlines and United Airlines in Burbank, Calif., Los Angeles, Oakland, Calif., and San Francisco. In November 2003, he and his wife moved to Grants Pass from Vacaville, Calif. He was a member of Our Club (Retired United Airlines Employees) and Edgewater Christian Fellowship. He enjoyed gardening, reading, cars, car shows, restoring old cars, traveling and remodeling houses. In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Andrew Wilson of Pleasant Hill, Calif., and Timothy Wilson of Carmichael, Calif.; his mother, Viola M. Wilson of Ontario; a brother, Howard Wilson of Ontario, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
