Walter Fay Throop went to be with the Lord on May 24th 2023, to join his father Fay Eathern Throop, his mother Susie Elizabeth Bergstrom, his daughter Katherine Estelle Anderson, his brother Earl LeRoy Throop, and sisters Ruth Maxine Jantzen and Pearl Dollene Jamerson in Heaven.
Left behind are his wife Frances Mae Throop, his son Jasen Wade Jacobsen and his family, along with his son Kyle Fay Throop and his family.
Walter was a devout Christian and family man. He said it was his hope that knowing him helped those he met find their way closer to Christ. He also studied theology at Biola and later obtained a Masters in Social Services at a separate university. He retired as Deputy Director of Social Services of Mendocino County before relocating to Rogue River, Oregon.
His story telling, wisdom, laughter, and friendship will be greatly missed. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to the Alzheimer's Association/Oregon Chapter. A memorial service will be held at Stephens Family Chapel in Grants Pass on June 30th, at 5pm. A memorial webpage can be found at Legacy.com.
