Virginia Mary Stewart, 86, of Grants Pass died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at Royale Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center. Services will be held Jan. 12 in Santa Ana, Calif. Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Calif. Contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, Grants Pass Area, in care of Bank of America Building, P.O. Box 2667, Grants Pass, OR 97528. Stewart was born Dec. 25, 1920, in Wisconsin to Roy and Cora Sanders. She married Walker T. Stewart, who died in 1994. In August 2007, she moved to Grants Pass from Santa Ana. She was a member of First Congregational Church in Santa Ana and the antique doll and button societies. She enjoyed antique dolls and buttons, working with her church, gardening, reading and bird watching. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Hornaday of Grants Pass; a son, James Stewart of Santa Ana, Calif.; two brothers, Carl Sanders of Delavan, Wis., and David Sanders of Lake Forest, Ill.; two sisters, Priscilla Schulz of Lake Geneva, Wis., and Patricia Jones of Janesville, Wis.; and four grandchildren.
