Virginia Abrams Pinkerton Kolkow Fall passed away from melanoma cancer in the peace of her own home surrounded by loved ones on November 11, 2015, in Lompoc, CA. She was 84 years old. Virginia was born July 14, 1931, in Long Beach, CA, to Elroy Havins and Imer Lorene Guthrie. As a girl, Virginia moved with her mother and step-father, Harold Malisch, to Grants Pass, OR, where she lived most of her life. In 1947 she married William Douglass Pinkerton, Jr. They had four children, Jacquelyn, Betty, Michael and Katherine. Virginia married Charles Leroy Kolkow, a widower with two small children, in 1961 in Grants Pass. They had one son, Stephen. After 50 years of marriage Charles passed away. Not long afterwards an old high school sweetheart came back into her life. Bruce Fall and Virginia were married August 22, 2011, in Grants Pass. Shortly afterwards they made their home in Lompoc, CA, to enjoy their final years together. Virginia had many passions. Her family and love of God, along with being an active member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, filled her life. She volunteered in the Grants Pass Pathfinder Club for 25 years. She was a prolific gardener and especially loved her rose garden. A talented artist, she produced many paintings. Music was another love. She had a lovely voice and could play the accordion. Virginia will be sorely missed by all those whose lives she touched. She is survived by her husband Bruce Fall of Lompoc, CA; five children, Jacquelyn Pinkerton of Auburn WA, Betty Green of Texas, Mike Pinkerton of Grants Pass, OR, Kathryn Johns of Grants Pass, OR, and Stephen Von Kolkow of San Diego, CA; two step-sons Bruce Kolkow of Vancouver, WA, and Joe Kolkow of Grants Pass, OR; three siblings Richard Malisch of Grants Pass, OR, Jim Malisch of Clatskanie, OR, and Judy Lane of Grants Pass, OR; 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
