Tom Carson, 70, of Grants Pass died April 26, 2009 at his home in Grants Pass, Oregon with his companion Mary at his side Private committal service will be held at a later date at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Born April 5, 1939 in Superior, Wyoming to Susanna & Huber Carson. After the death of his father when he was 6 his family moved to Santa Monica, CA where he attended school. He worked for Santa Fe Trailers and KTTY Chanel 11 in Los Angeles. He then moved to Portland where he was a commercial fisherman and with his brother owned and operated North West Plastics Recycling Plant. He moved to Grants Pass area in 1985 and worked for Valley Lumber before retiring in the early 1990âs. He loved fishing, Harleyâs, the beauty of his âGods green acresâ, woodworking, repairing anything (tinkering), building and his dogs especial his blue healer mix âDaisyâ. He will be remembered for his quick wit, funny jokes, infectious grin and unique personality. Tom is survived by 3 children, son Ron Carson of Alpine Village, CA; two daughters, Linda Baker of Santa Ynez, CA and Melody Valencia of Santa Maria, CA; five grandchildren; brother, Dan Carson of Portland, OR; two nieces, Debbie Teeny and Danny Smith of Portland; Aunt, Betty Davidson and companion Mary Burgess of Grants Pass. His parents and stepfather preceded him in death.
