Thomas James Herp, 73 of Central Point/Gold Hill passed away April 7, 2012 at his home. Private Family Services He was born on February 1, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan. He served in the United States Coast Guard. Tom worked for many years as a police officer for the Azusa California Police Dept. He moved to Southern Oregon from Glendora, California in 1973 where he purchased Campers Cove Resort at Hyatt Lake and enjoyed being with people of liked mind....Fishing! Tom then married Brenda Still in 1979 in Ashland, Oregon and she preceded him in death on March 5, 2008. Tom then went to work for Harry & David and was Manager of Cold Storage Warehousing when he took an early retirement package. Tom & Brenda opened up the WHITE HOUSE book store in Jacksonville and enjoyed the many patrons who visited with them. His most recent employment was with THE MANOR where he finally retired to enjoy his passions or metal detecting and FISHING. Survivors include his two daughters from his first marriage to Shirley (Herp) Daniel.... Jennifer Buck and Kathleen Commins and four grandchildren.
