Thomas D. "Tom" Downs

Tom Downs, 75 of Williams passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center. He was born on December 14, 1940 in Pasadena, California to Thomas and Mary Downs. On August 16, 1982 he married Lyn Thomson in Los Angeles, California. In 1982 they moved to Williams, Oregon from West Covina, California. Tom was a Bail Bondsman for many years in California and then worked for Litton Guidance and Control Systems in Grants Pass. Tom and Lyn owned and operated the Computer Lab in Grants Pass and the Williams Country Store in Williams. In 1996 Tom graduated from Rogue Community College with an Associate in Applied Science in Fire Science. Tom spent many years with the Williams Fire Department serving as a Lieutenant and the Safety Training Officer. Tom was also a member of the Monrovia Masonic Lodge #654. One of his favorite hobbies was Ham Radio Operation. In addition to his wife Lyn Downs of Williams Tom is survived by two sons; David Downs of Williams and Thomas Downs II and three sisters; Margaret Sorensen, Mary Jane Sutton and Elizabeth Delgado. His daughter Vickie Downs preceded Tom in death in 2003.el.
