Susie "Sue" Ellen Niles, 98 of Grants Pass passed away, Friday, July 27, 2012 at her residence at The Bridge Assisted Living in Grants Pass. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, 10:00 AM at the Grants Pass Masonic Center. Contributions: Eastern Star Home Endowment Fund: 164 Saradan Lane, Grants Pass, Oregon 97527. She was born on June 6, 1914 in Hammond, Indiana to William & Nellie Haynes. On June 16, 1932 in Havre, Montana she married Albert Niles. On October 12, 1945 they moved to Grants Pass from Eastern Oregon. Bert preceded her in death on March 2, 1996. Sue was a Lifetime member of 69 years of the Order of the Eastern Star, participating in the Josephine County Chapter #26 and Rogue River Daylight Chapter #186. She worked for 25 years as a local Avon representative here in Grants Pass. Sue enjoyed sewing, gardening, dancing, cooking, and writing poetry and skits. She would often write the skits that were performed by the members of the Eastern Stars. Survivors include her two daughters, Carol Ransom and Nellie Reichert both of Grants Pass; Ten grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and fourteen great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband her son Patrick Niles preceded her in death in 1986.
