Silas Benjamin Emery, 20, of Grants Pass died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, as a result of an automobile accident in Grants Pass. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shan Creek Community Bible Church, with Guy Shields, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. He was born April 1, 1988, in Grants Pass to Robert and Susan Emery. His family moved to Grants Pass in 1992 from Roseburg. He was home-schooled and attended Rogue Community College. While attending school, he worked for his father's business, Maranatha Painting, and worked part-time creating video game walk through. He was a member of Shan Creek Community Bible Church. He enjoyed his family and friends and computer science. Survivors include his parents, Robert and Susan Emery of Grants Pass; three brothers, Joel, Timothy and Seth Emery, all of Grants Pass; two sisters, Irene and Mary Emery, both of Grants Pass; and his grandparents, Morris and Beverly Christopherson of Lacey, Wash. His brother, Joshua D. Emery, died as a result of the same accident.
