Sherry Lou Wieler

Sherry Lou Wieler, 78, of Grants Pass died Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at her home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stephens Family Chapel, with Ken Bern, pastor, officiating. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Wieler was born Sept. 18, 1929, in Denver to Seldon and Dorothy Smith. On June 12, 1946, in Sun Valley, Calif., she married Fred Wieler, who survives. They moved to Grants Pass in 1992 from Lompoc, Calif. For many years, she led the children's choir at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lompoc, Calif. She also was a member of the Sweet Adelines. She enjoyed singing, crocheting, cooking and music. She especially enjoyed her family. In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, April Balfour of Grants Pass, and Vicki Estes of Lompoc, Calif.; two brothers, Danny Smith of Grants Pass, and Bob Smith of Roseburg; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
