She was born on August 19, 1922 in Los Angeles, California to Clinton and Gladys Taft. She attended school at Van Nuys High School where she graduated in 1941. On October 18, 1942 in Burbank, CA she married Stewart Vaughan he preceded her in death in 1992. She owned and Operated Tattle Tale Fashions in Kernville, California from 1975-1985. In 2005 she moved from Chico, CA to Grants Pass. Ruth loved camping in the Sierras, hiking, swimming, the fine art of letter writing there by staying close to family & friends. Survivors include three daughters, Carla Vaughan and Tess Weisbarth of Santa Cruz, CA and Sandra Carpenter and her husband Jay Carpenter of Grants Pass; granddaughter Rebecca Wirsz and grandson John Carpenter both of Grants Pass; sister Miriam Stebbins of Hillsboro, Oregon; 1 great grandchild.
