Rosemary Susan Rackley, 65, of Grants Pass died Friday, March 28, 2014, in Vancouver, Washington. The cause of death was breast cancer. She was born Rosemary Susan Houston on May 2, 1948, in Grants Pass, Oregon to Dorothy and Charles Houston. She spent her early years in Wonder, Oregon and in 1958 moved to Grants Pass, Oregon where she later graduated from Grants Pass High School. On October 21, 1966, she married Melton Royce Rackley in Grants Pass, Oregon. She worked as a tax consultant for over 10 years and an enrolled agent for 4 years. In 2005, she and her business partner, Brenda Patton, launched H Street Business and Financial Services, which specializes in bookkeeping and tax services. In her early career, Rosemary held various positions including receptionist, telephone operator, and bookkeeping assistant for local Grants Pass businesses. Her favorite pastimes were gardening, hiking, drawing, painting, rock hunting, and spending time at the beach. In addition to her husband, Melton, survivors include two daughters, Vikki Kaps of Vancouver, Washington, and Sandi Speers, of Grants Pass, Oregon, and three grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Dorothy Houston, a brother, William Houston, and a sister, Julie Houston, all of Grants Pass, Oregon. She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Houston. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 12th at Stephens Family Chapel, located at 1629 Williams Hwy, Grants Pass, Oregon 97527. Reception to follow.
