Ronald Harold Harrison, 77, of Rogue River passed away November 19, 2010 in Grants Pass. Memorial Service will be held Sunday, December 5th, 3:00 PM at Hope Presbyterian Church in Rogue River. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Food Bank c/o of Rogue River Community Center, P.O. Box 295, Rogue River OR 97537. Born on April 14, 1933 to Lillian Schiefelbein and Harold Harrison. He was raised in Milbank, South Dakota where he graduated from high school in 1951. He attended South Dakota State University, majoring in Pharmacy. Ron married Nova Sue Gerken in 1955 and they lived in Chiloquin, Oregon beginning in 1956 where he had a pharmacy. He moved to Rogue River in 1965 where he opened Ronâs Drugs. He married JoAnne Monahan in 1974. He sold his store in 1988 and was an active relief pharmacist until he retired in 1998. Ron was an active member of Hope Presbyterian Church, serving as an Elder at one time. He contributed to the community as an active volunteer including helping to organize the first Jaycee chapter in Rogue River. He was also a member of the Masons. Ron was an active member of the Oregon State Pharmacy Association, serving as state president in 1981-1982. He was chosen as the pharmacist of the year for the Oregon State Pharmacy Association in 1985. He enjoyed reading, fishing, woodworking and sports,particularly his Oregon State Beavers. In addition to his wife, Jo, survivors include children Dana (Steve) Pauls; Jenna (Steve) Reynolds; Nancy (Mark) Bosse; Elizabeth (Bill) Bergman; Dianne Dungay; Jody Dungay and Bob Dungay; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is also survived by his beloved Aunt Effa Nelson, his sister Sylvia (Ron) Seaton and their sons Jeff and Terry; and cousins Debi Corkins, Sandra Boe and Linda Frolund.
