Robert Lee "Bobby" Van Dyke, 78, of Grants Pass died Monday, March 16, 2009. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grants Pass Community Church. He was born Sept. 6, 1930, in Outlook, Wash., to Vernon and MaryAnn Van Dyke. When he was 13, his family moved to Seattle, where he lived most of his life. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1948. On March 8, 1952, he married Nancey Duval, who survives. They lived and worked in Seattle, where they raised their children. For most of his adult life, he worked as a land surveyor for the Municipality of Metropolitan Seattle. He was a pastor at Living Word Church of Seattle for 10 years. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Haiku, Maui, Hawaii, where they lived for five years before moving to Grants Pass. He served as an elder at Grants Pass Community Church. In addition to his wife, survivors include three children, Roberta "Berta" Meyer and Ed and Mike Van Dyke; a sister, Iva Sume; a brother, Johnny Van Dyke; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
