Robert Herman (Bob) Heckhaus passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, in Grants Pass, OR at the age of 83. He was born in Flushing, NY to Herman and Virginia Heckhaus. The family moved to the San Francisco Bay Area when he was a Sophomore in High School. He met his wife Karen while attending Capuchino High School in Millbrae, CA. They were married in December 1960. Recently celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Bob loved anything auto related. He did body/fender repair, auto restoration, auto upholstery, and was a car dealer and truck driver. Bob and Karen traveled the US Going to auto swap meets and car shows in their 1959 bus conversion selling 1950's memorabilia. After living in various places in Grants Pass, they moved to Wolf Creek where he continued working on cars and was known as Wolf Creek Bob.
He is survived by his Wife Karen, daughter Susie Wimbereley (Jim), granddaughter Nikkie Grant (Austin) and grandson Daniel Wimberley.
He was predeceased in death by his parents Herman & Virginia Heckhaus, sister Carol Sirianni.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Stephens Family Chapel in Grants Pass. Date to be determined. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made out to Josephine County Animal Shelter or any charity of your choice.
