Richard "Dick" Lee Buxton passed away September 28th at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 17th 10:30 AM at Hope Presbyterian Church, Rogue River. Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Rogue River. Richard Lee Buxton was born in Wichita, KS, on November 27, 1926. He was the second of five children: Raymond, Hazel, Betty, and Barbara. He lived in Arizona, during his formative years, and joined the Navy, in 1944, at age 18 to serve during WWII. In 1950, he married Margaret. They moved immediately to Chicago, for Dick to attend electronics school. Wesley, Dick's oldest, was born in September 1954, in Seattle, and Martin in March of 1956. While in Seattle, Dick worked for Boeing, and then in 1964, was transferred to Huntsville, AL. Over the years, Dick provided well for his family, and they enjoyed interesting hobbies, including scuba diving and snorkeling, rock hunting, camping, travel, and gardening. Wherever they lived, a beautiful garden, complete with rockery, was to be found! Once retired, Dick and Margaret continued to travel, and purchased homes in LaPaz, Mexico, and Hyatt Lake, OR, where they spent winters and summers respectively. Upon moving to Rogue River, OR, the Buxtons poured themselves into the church life of Hope Presbyterian Church, and the community at large. Two sons, their wives, three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren survive Dick.
