Raymond B. Lake Jr., 81, of Grants Pass passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass. Funeral Services: Wednesday, April 15, 2009, 1:00 PM at Stephens Family Chapel with Carl Wilson officiating. Interment with Military honors will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Grants Pass In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions: Gospel Rescue Mission: 120 SE J Street, Grants Pass, Oregon Raymond was born on September 21, 1927 in Springfield, Illinois to Raymond and Winafred Lake. He graduated from Stanford University class of 1950. After graduating from Stanford he pursued his career. In 1951 he began serving in the United States Military during the Korean War from June 18, 1951 until his honorable discharge on September 12, 1956. Returning home he continued his career in Accounting, Hospital Administration; executive Director Palo Alto Medical Research Foundation and then a Management Consultant. Raymond married his wife Juanita on July 28, 1979. Together they moved to Grants Pass from Santa Rose, California in 2000. Raymond was a member of Rotary, RASCALS and Stanford Club of Long Beach. Raymond enjoyed playing golf, computers, reading, traveling, bowling and woodworking. In addition to his wife survivors include two sons, Carter Lake of Walpole, NH and Dana Lake of Rio Linda, CA; daughter, Meredith Sole-March of Murrieta, CA; step-daughter, Dona Vlaskamp of Rogue River, OR; step-son Lynn Muskat of San Jose, CA; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Winafred Lake; sister Betty Bulcock and his son Raymond Lake III.
