Rachel Ann Riojas
April 20, 1943 — May 30, 2020
Rachel Ann Riojas, age 77, of Grants Pass, OR entered into eternal rest on May 30, 2020 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center.
She was born and raised in San Jose, CA. In Rachel’s younger years she was given a rare career opportunity of the time and went from working at a diner to becoming one of the first female supervisors in the micro electronics field, in what is now known as the Silicon Valley.
In the fall of 1994, she volunteered to train personnel in the micro wave manufacturing process in Grants Pass for Litton Applied Technology when the business moved from the Bay Area to Southern Oregon.
In retirement she also volunteered at Evergreen Senior Center in San Jose, CA and continued her volunteer work at Asante Three Rivers in Grants Pass.
She was an avid crafter and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and gardening.
She is survived by her husband Antonio Riojas, her children Anthony Riojas and Deborah Rodriguez, and her siblings Mary Bastida of Manteca, CA, Sharon Kier of Grants Pass, OR, Arthur Gonzales of San Jose, CA, Michael Alesse of Grants Pass, OR, and Lori Alesse of Empire, CA.
A family and friend memorial service will be held with a tree planting ceremony in Late summer or early fall.
She is forever loved, respected, and admired by family and friends.
She will be truly missed.
