Phyllis Elva Parnell, 80, of Grants Pass passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011, at Three Rivers Community Hospital. Celebration of her life will be held at a later date at Shan Creek Community Bible Church. Contributions: CEF - Child Evangelism Fellowship Inc.

Warrenton, MO 63383 Phyllis was born on August 19, 1931 in Dodge City, Kansas to Benjamin and Wanda Garfield. She graduated High School in Quincy, California. On December 21, 1948 in Reno, Nevada she married Leonard Wesley (Pete) Parnell, he preceded her in death May of 1996. Phyllis moved to Grants Pass from St Helens, Oregon in 1997. She was a member of Shan Creek Community Bible Church and a member of the Grange. Phyllis loved helping others, spending time with family and friends, her pets, knitting scarves for orphans. She especially enjoyed it when her sister moved in with her a 1 ½ ago and their recent road trip to Wyoming this past summer. Survivors include 3 children, Irene Christie of Grants Pass; son Timothy Parnell of St. Helens, OR and daughter Sandy Parnell of Deer Island, OR; 6 siblings, Nancy Hill of Grants Pass, Penny Cadena of Utah, Karen Prine of Missouri, Charles Garfield of Washington, Gene Crumley of Oregon and David Yarbrough of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her son Leonard Russell Parnell; two grandchildren Bradley and Kenny Parnell and brother Benjamin Garfield Jr.
