Paul L. Seagoe, 73, of Grants Pass died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at The Suites Assisted Living. Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Stephens Family Chapel. A funeral service will begin at 2:30 p.m. Private interment will follow at Wilderville Cemetery. He was born April 1, 1936, in Happy Camp, Calif., to Thomas and Alberta (Johnston) Seagoe. His family moved to Grants Pass in 1942 from Happy Camp. On July 23, 1955, he married Celia Clay. They divorced in 2001. For many years, he worked for local mills. He also owned and operated Ye Olde Clock Shoppe in Merlin for 15 years until closing the business in 1994. He continued repairing clocks until he retired in 2006. He enjoyed clock repair, mining, metal detecting and old cars. He especially enjoyed a drive in the summertime and, for many years, he enjoyed being a member of an antique car club. Survivors include four daughters, Doris Brazille of Canyonville, Darla Seagoe and Daisy Fields, both of Grants Pass, and Dixie Netherland of Rogue River; two brothers, Everett Seagoe of Grants Pass, and Dale Seagoe of Yuma, Ariz.; two sisters, Barbara Jean Fields and Phyllis Backus, both of Grants Pass; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. An infant son, Darren Seagoe, died before him.
