Nora L. "Tuni" Hicks, 61, of Grants Pass died January 8, 2010, at home after a battle with cancer. No services are planned. Hicks was born March 29, 1948, in Wendell, Idaho, to Leroy and Margaret Harrison. At an early age, she moved to Long Beach, Calif., where she attended public schools and learned dental assisting. For several years, she toured with Dewayne Bros. Circus as an aerialist in her spare time. For 33 years, she was married to David Harrington, who died in 2002. They bought a sailboat and sold most of their possessions and sailed throughout the South Pacific for two years. After having two daughters, she and her husband settled in Southern Oregon, and she became a general contractor building custom homes. In 2006, she married Jim Hicks, who survives. She then learned to turn and sell wood products. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and traveling all over Arizona while snow birding there. She was a member of a gun club and enjoyed shooting air rifles and pistols. In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Jenifer Twedell and Michele Ireland; two adopted sons, Joey and David Harrington; two stepchildren, Brad Hicks and Jennifer Lonas; and nine grandchildren.
