Naomi (Duran) Fell, 89, passed peacefully on September 13, in Grants Pass, Oregon. She was a loving wife for over 68 year to Montague (Monty) Fell and a caring mother to Charles (Chuck) Dennis Fell and Paula (Cub) Suzanne Terwilliger. The youngest of four children, she was born February 13, 1924, in Mountain View, California, to Spanish immigrants who settled in the United States in 1920. She graduated from Mountain View High School in 1942; then, during WWII, she entered nurses training at French Hospital in San Francisco, graduating in 1947. She went on to a successful career in the medical field with prominent positions at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, Calif. and El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, Calif. She married Monty on March 24, 1945, in San Francisco. They settled first in San Mateo, then bought a home in Mountain View, where they raised their children and lived until their retirement. In 1985 Naomi and Monty moved to Happy Trails RV and Golf Resort in Surprise, Arizona, participating in their community for over 25 years. In December 2011 they moved to Spring Meadows Retirement Community in Grants Pass, to be closer to family. Enthusiastic world travelers, Naomi and her husband spent many years in their RV, visiting nearly every state in the union. Traveling abroad they toured Europe, the Mediterranean, China, the South Pacific, Mexico and Canada. Naomi was an avid reader, golfer and a craftswoman who learned loom weaving and stained glass. She had a vast cookbook collection and was a great cook who enjoyed making dinners from traditional family recipes as well as gourmet meals. She was an active member in the communities she lived in. Volunteering when needed she helped take blood pressure for local residents, donated potluck dishes, prepared communion service and played the organ at her local church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bonifacio and Eva (Perez) Duran, her brothers Eleiser (Lee) Duran and Isaias (Ace) Duran. She is survived by her loving husband Monty; her son Chuck and his wife Kathy; daughter Paula and her husband Rick Terwilliger; her grandchildren Christopher Fell, Noah Fell and his fiance Jenae Leuenberger, Peyton Navarrete and her husband Jesse; Jeremy Terwilliger and Daniel Terwilliger; and three great grandchildren Lily Alves-Fell, Noemi Navarrete and Lino Navarrete. She is also survived by her brother Samuel Duran and his wife Bernice; her sister-in-law Helen Duran and numerous nephews and nieces.
