Miriam Alcesta White

May 2, 1934 — March 2, 2020

Miriam Towne (White,Lindberg) died March 2, 2020 after a long stay with Asante Hospice in her home in Grants Pass, Oregon. Miriam's Life began in Concord, MA in 1934 and she grew up in Middleboro, MA. She became an RN which would be her life's work. She went from the ER to public health, to working in schools. She earned her bachelor's degree in nursing before moving to California to be closer to her daughter Alyce, and mother Elsie Crowell. While in California, she worked at Kaiser hospital in the neurological ward, where she met her husband. Robert, through Elsie's son, who worked with Bob at UAL. After dating for 7 years, Robert and Miriam were married in 1989 at Lake Tahoe on the boat, Tahoe Queen. After getting married, they continued to live in Northern California until their retirement, when they moved to Grants Pass, Oregon. Miriam continued to work through her retirement at the local community college, as well as volunteering with Lovejoy Hospice for 15 years. Robert being a long-time classic car enthusiast, they toured around the USA, including Route 66, with the National CHVA car club. They were also members of the local RVCC car club. Miriam loved to travel. Her and her husband flew all over to see family, friends, and new sights. Their Homestead in Oregon is situated on 5 acres in the country. She and Bob were constantly landscaping their beautiful yard. Visiting their home was like stepping into a quiet paradise where they were the most perfect hosts! Miriam's empathy and desire to help people made her the ideal caregiver, host, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be forever in the hearts and minds of those she graced with her love and friendship. Miriam is preceded in death by her brothers Frank & Charles Towne, and sister-in- law Lois Towne. She is survived by her husband Robert "Bob" Lindberg, daughters Alyce (White) Catherman and Bethann (White) and husband, Brian McGuire; brother Allen Towne, nephew, Tod & wife Kelly Towne, niece Debbie & husband Mark Stevens, as well as her step-children Jon & wife Elizabeth Lindberg, Jodie Lindberg, Julie & husband Richard Riley.
