Michelle Bolas lost her fight with a brief illness on Tuesday Dec. 2, 2014. A tireless worker for the less fortunate, Michelle, born in Seattle, Washington lived most of her life in San Diego. She moved to Oregon in 2003 to found Welcome Home Oregon (WHO), a branch of Welcome Home Prison Ministries to help released prisoners become useful members of society. To her, everyone was a âfriend' and she helped everyone as a friend. She conducted services for the inmates in Josephine county jail in hopes of getting them on the right path before their release. She also was a director of The Faith House in the early 2000's and worked at UCAN to assist the low income in finding housing. She is survived by a large family. Her husband Stanley Bolas of Grants Pass, 4 sons, Christopher and Dustyn of San Diego and Shane Arena of California and Chance Arena of Grants Pass. Grandfather, Leroy Lamb , mother, Pat Melega, both of Grants Pass. Brothers, Eddie Burnett of Grants Pass, & Michael Melega of Las Vegas, sister, Tina Burnett of Grants Pass plus numerous nieces and nephews and great nephews.
