Maurice J. Rougeau, 79 of Grants Pass passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 at Autumn House of Grants Pass. A celebration of life will be held Friday, October 9, 2009, 1:00 PM at Stephens Family Chapel Contributions: Alzheimerâs Association www.alz.org Maury was born in Armstrong, Ontario, Canada on November 9, 1929 to Yvonne and Eugene Rougeau. The family later moved to St. Boniface Manitoba. Maury worked for the Canadian National Railway as a machinistâs helper. In 1955 he married Victoria Gorgitza in Winnipeg. They moved to Los Angeles in 1957 where Maury worked as a welder and Machinist in several job shops. After becoming a US Citizen he worked on may aerospace projects. In 1966 he started his own business â" Movik Engineering in Garden Grove, CA. where he worked on prototype machining and die making. Upon selling the business and until his retirement, he worked at the Perris plant of Cal-Val. Maury loved camping, fishing, repairing old cars, brick laying and remodeling. His hobbies included Barbequing. In addition to his wife of 54 years, survivors include two daughters â" Maureen and Michael Marvin of Grants Pass, Janice and Rick Arringdale of Victorville, CA; One son, Eugene & Doug Rougeau of Petaluma, CA; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brother, Richard and Roz Rougeau of Sault Ste, Marie, Ontario, Canada; sister, Claudette and Ted Gamble of Surrey B.C.. His parents and sister Gertrude preceded him in death.
