Matthew Adam Cox, 28, of Grants Pass died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at his home. Funeral services will begin Tuesday, 2 p.m. at Laurel Cemetery in Cave Junction. Ron Hayworth will be officiating. Matthew was born March 17, 1982 in Crescent City, CA to Robert and Karen Cox. He moved to Grants Pass in 1986. He was a member of the Boy Scouts, enjoyed motorcycle riding and fishing. On November 10, 1993 he was struck by an automobile and paralyzed from the neck down. For the past 17 years he overcame his physical limitations and enjoyed life. He spent his time with his family, playing poker with his siblings, being outdoors and playing a specially made Nintendo. On Easter of this year he was baptized and looked forward to attending church each Sunday. Survivors include his parents Robert and Karen Cox; sister, Rebecca Werner; brothers, Richard Godwin, Joseph Godwin, Robert Cox Jr., and Daniel "P-boy" Cox; 6 nephews; 6 nieces; grandfather, Lavon Spears, and grandmother, Sharon Little.
