Matthew Lawrence Bertuleit, 44 of Grants Pass passed away March 31, 2014 at his home in Grants Pass, Oregon. Matthew was born on May 8, 1969 in Castro Valley, California to Henry and Patsy Bertuleit. He attended Tokay High School in Lodi, California and then went on to attend Culinary School at San Joaquin Delta Community College in Stockton, California. In 2002 he moved from Seattle, Washington to Grants Pass, Oregon. He always worked in the food industry and was a Banquet Chef at the Double Tree Inn in Seattle, Washington until he was forced to retire due to a long lasting disability. He was an avid skateboarder in his youth and enjoyed mountain biking, reading and video games. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and music, especially the grunge scene in Seattle music clubs. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his 2 cats whom he loved dearly. Survivors include his parents Henry and Patsy Bertuleit of Grants Pass, OR; sisters, Kerry Gibson of Colleyville, TX, Rebecca Provo of Littleton, CO and Rachel Masters of Yelm, WA; brother, Henry Bertuleit III of Sparks, NV; 11 nieces and nephews.
