Mary Jean Dockery, 83, of Grants Pass died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford. No services are planned. Dockery was born Dec. 27, 1925, in Tipton, Ind., to Silas and Violet Usselman. She worked as a licensed practical nurse for many years. On April 22, 1976, in Thousand Oaks, Calif., she married Robert Wade Dockery, who survives. They moved to Grants Pass in July 1977 from Thousand Oaks. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. She enjoyed volunteering, fishing, knitting, traveling in her RV and spending time with family and friends. In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Martin Widero of Tucson, Ariz.; three daughters, Chyerl Cummings of Camarillo, Calif., Jody Bourgeois of West Hills, Calif., and Lisa Kadansky of Ventura, Calif.; three stepsons, Thomas Dockery of Edwards, Wash., David Dockery of Joseph, and Robert Dockery of Pamplico, S.C.; a stepdaughter, Kathy Taylor of Enterprise; two sisters, Norma Engel of Grants Pass, and Dorris Ruud of Davis, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
