Marvin J. Barney, 70 of Grants Pass passed away January 19, 2012 at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center in Grants Pass. Private Family Services He was born on April 4, 1941 in Richfield, Utah to Boyd and Flossie Barney. Marvin graduated from White Pine High School in Ely, Nevada in 1959. He worked for Sylvania in the 1970's wiring submarines. He then worked for Los Alamos Lab as a mechanical technical retiring after 30 years. On March 12, 1991 in Los Alamos, New Mexico he married Sally Klein who survives. They moved to Grants Pass from Mora, New Mexico in 2004. Marvin enjoyed working with his hands he built two houses and his own boat. He enjoyed playing the banjo, bluegrass music, old cars, Ocean fishing for salmon, building, working with brick and Rock In addition to his wife Sally Barney of Grants Pass survivors include son, Branden Barney of Tucson, AZ; daughter, Kelly Barney of Tucson, AZ; step-son, Craig Johnson of La Selva Beach, CA; step-son, Jeb Johnson of Carmel, CA; sister, Rena Ellis of Enumclaw, WA; brother, Doug Barney of Enumclaw, WA; brother, Gordon Barney or Riverside, CA; brother, Royal Barney, Redding, CA; brother, Rod Barney, Modesto, CA; Three Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Boyd & Flossie Barney and his sister Dorothy Barney.
