Marvin Kenneth Adams, 83, of Grants Pass, Oregon, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020, at his residence.
Marvin was born September 9, 1937, in Abilene, Texas, to James Fredrick Adams and Minnie Rebecca Jane (Crawford). After graduating from high school in Coalinga, California, he served in the US Navy for four years then attended college at Oregon State University. On June 28, 1957, in Biola, California, Marvin married Patricia Earlene Boiles. For almost thirty-two years he worked at the California Department of Corrections, during which he also owned and operated an auto parts store and was self-employed.
He was a member of the Assembly of God in Redding, California where he served as a greeter, men's ministry leader, board member, and 'grandpa' for Royal Family Kids Camp. Marvin also coached baseball, football, and junior horse riding for his children.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Patricia Adams; son, Brent Adams, of Grants Pass, Oregon; daughter, Veronica McQueary, of Grants Pass, Oregon; brother, Denny, of Texas; sister, Patsy Wood, of Texas; granddaughter, Yolanda, of Crescent City, California; grandsons, Richard McQueary, of Grants Pass, Oregon, Mikel McQueary, of Roseburg, Oregon, and Brenton Adams, of Medford, Oregon; and ten great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Fredrick Adams and Minnie Rebecca Jane (Crawford), and his daughter, Yolanda Lynn Adams.
