Marty Lee Hamlin, 27 of Grants Pass passed away October 26, 2009 at Providence Medford Medical Center. Celebration of Marty̢۪s life will be held Saturday, November 14th, 1:00PM at Rogue Valley Community Church in Rogue River, Oregon. Marty was born on September 17, 1982 in Grants Pass to Marty W. and Debbie J. Hamlin. Short of a few adventures he lived his life here in Southern Oregon. Marty attended several elementary schools in the Rogue Valley, 2 years at Illinois Valley High School before joining the Youth Corps where he received his GED as well as certification in carpentry. Marty found his true passion was in wild land forest fire fighting. He was very devoted to fitness and his training, receiving his degree in forest fire fighting, CPR and fitness. In no time he was directing radio controlled water and flame retardant drops, working in Oregon and all over the country. He would be out of town for times of 28 days strait with little time for rest or calls home. Marty loved playing practical jokes, was not only one of his favorite things to do, he was good at it! He loved Gold mining, inherited from his dad and great grandpa. He and his dad also faithfully shared their love of mushrooms from early childhood on. Survivors include his solemate Megan Bernhart and their son Hunter Lee Aleck Cole of Grants Pass; Father Martin and Jeannie Hamlin of Grants Pass; Mother, Debra Hamlin of Phoenix, OR; Grandparents Leo and Betty Calloway of Rogue River; Grandfather Bob Jubber of Grants Pass; Sister Connie Hamlin of Las Vegas, Nevada; Sister Jenny & Dovik Knutson of White City, Oregon; sister, Stacey Hamlin of Medford; Uncle and Aunt Norm and Elaine Hamlin of Bend, Oregon; Aunt & Uncle Dusty and Ed Webb of Prineville, OR; Aunt LeAnne of London; Aunt Jonna Lerivieve of New Mexico; Numerous nieces and nephews.
