Martin "Marty" Andrew Clapp

Martin "Marty" Andrew Clapp, a devoted husband, loving father, and respected member of the community, peacefully passed away on December 3, 2023, at the age of 79. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and unwavering faith.

Marty was born on August 15, 1944, in Portland, Oregon, and spent much of his life in Bend. On August 5, 1977, he joined in matrimony with his beloved wife, Margaret, in Redmond, Oregon, solidifying a bond that would endure for over four decades.

Marty served his country in the National Guard, and professionally, he thrived in the Redmond community as a co-owner of Kelsey's Auto Electric. Later, he operated his own coin shop in Grants Pass, where he fostered connections with clients and fellow enthusiasts.

Outside of work, Marty found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether casting his fishing line into the tranquil waters or challenging himself on the golf course, he savored every moment spent pursuing his hobbies. His love for these activities served as a reminder to embrace the beauty of nature and enjoy the fellowship of others.

Martin will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind his wife, Margaret Clapp; his two daughters, Carol Hickman and Mary Alexander; and seven grandchildren. He is preceded in passing by both his parents, Kelsey and Mattie Clapp.

Marty was a man of faith and attended Redwood Christian Church, where he formed meaningful connections and supported his fellow congregants. A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor there on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 1:00 PM for all those who knew and loved him to attend. Redwood Christian Church is located at 4995 Redwood Ave, Grants Pass.
