Marilyn Pollock was born April 17, 1937 in Southgate, California. She attended grade school through high school in Huntington Park, graduating from high school in 1955.
Marilyn was married to Eddy Pollock who passed in 2007 in Grants Pass. They had two children, Dave and Dee.
Marilyn loved her two children so much as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, and a niece.
Marilyn was in Job's Daughters during high school. She and her husband were later members of Twin Lakes Baptist Church, Aptos, California; Santa Cruz Bible Church, Santa Cruz, California; and Parkway Christian Center, Grants Pass, Oregon. She accepted Jesus Christ into her life as her personal Lord and Savior as a young girl. She always showed so much love to our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ! She loved studying her Bible and praying for family and friends. She lived her faith by the way she reached out and showed kindness to everyone around her.
Marilyn worked as a bank teller before having children, and then later as a Nursery coordinator at Twin Lakes Baptist Church and also at a jewelry store, Sparkle, in Santa Cruz County.
Marilyn has lived in Huntington Park, California, Santa Cruz County, California, Hartford, Connecticut, Grants Pass, Oregon, and Fresno, California.
She played classical piano beautifully and sang with the Sweet Adelines. She also enjoyed bowling, traveling, going out to eat, writing cards, being with friends, attending church and Bible Studies, and especially time with her family.
Marilyn and her husband moved to Grants Pass, Oregon in 2000. Marilyn moved to Fresno, California in 2017.
Marilyn passed peacefully at her care facility on May 16, 2020 with her daughter and son-in-law at her side, and her son and daughter-in-law on a video call.
Marilyn will always be remembered for her kind, gentle, and loving heart. Her generosity and care for others was amazing. Her smile will be remembered forever.
She is survived by her son, David Earle Pollock and daughter-in-law, Cindy Wright of Klamath Falls, Oregon; her daughter, Deanna (Dee) Jo Richey and son-in-law, Ferrel Richey of Clovis, California, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and a niece.
A private family memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 28 at Stephens Family Chapel in Grants Pass, Oregon, followed by her burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
