Maria Teresa Millard

Maria (Mary) Teresa Jackovich Coriz, 96, of Central Point, Oregon, left this world peacefully on December 23rd, 2024. Born on September 29th, 1928 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Maria Teresa was a beloved grandmother, cherished by family and friends, and everyone who knew her. Maria Teresa’s life was a testament to the power of love and faith. She was a devout Catholic who prayed daily to her saints and lived her life with compassion and grace. 

Survived by her daughter, Carol (Jim), her three grandchildren, Candace Trujillo, Steven Trujillo (Brandi), and Marcia Trujillo, 13 great-grandchildren and cherished extended family in New Mexico, she leaves behind a legacy of love. She was preceded in death by her parents Luis Coriz and Matilda Jackovich, several siblings and beloved only child, Leroy Louie Trujillo, who undoubtably welcomed her with open arms. Above all, Maria Teresa will be remembered for her fierce conviction and stubborn demure. 

She exuded love and kindness to all. Her grandchildren will remember her for her love of butterscotch and horehound candies (which she snuck to them) and playing checkers with them. A life lived with dignity and loyalty to her family, she was a force to be reckoned with. Maria Teresa worked most of her life in the health care industry. She spent some time in Florida, where she owned and operated a successful fruit stand. In her later life she was the caretaker of an assisted living facility where she made many friends and tended to the facilities gardens. Maria Teresa will be laid to rest next to her son in Sams Valley, Oregon. A private memorial service will follow at a later date.
