Marguerite Anne Ohman, 80, of Grants Pass passed peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, February 9, 2014. At Marguerite's request, there was no service and a private family interment will follow in the summer at Sunrise Cemetery in Fortuna, CA. She was born February 9, 1934 in Omaha Nebraska to Clarence and Marguerite (Ellis) Brown. The Brown Family moved to Sunland, Tujunga California in 1940, she was a graduate of Verdugo Hills High School. In 1967 she moved her family to Fortuna California. She worked for The County of Humboldt for more than 20 years, first in the County Clerk's Office as a Clerk Typist and then as Deputy County Collector. She retired due to health reasons in 1988 and moved to Grants Pass Oregon shortly after. Her hobbies included photography, and traveling and she LOVED gardening. She always had the best flowers in the neighborhood! When she was younger, she loved camping and fishing and enjoyed her time as a "Snow Bird" traveling with her sister Katy to Yuma Arizona to avoid the Grants Pass winters. She is survived by four daughters, Christine Boyl (Steve) of Kailua Kona Hawaii, Mary Miller of Grants Pass, Carol Guy (Mike) of Eureka California, and Donna Ohman (Gene Spineto) of San Diego California. She is also survived by four siblings, Mary Sweeny (Bill) and Kathleen McLearn, Jerry Brown and Dan Brown, six grandchildren, Brandon and Lauren Boyl, Katy Jewell (Mark), Claire Miller, Jared and Megan Guy and two great grandchildren, Violet Jewell and Harper Miller, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charles Brown and grandson, Brian Miller. Her daughters would like to thank Lovejoy Hospice of Grants Pass and Dr. Alison Savage for their tender care of our Mother during her illness.
