Margaret "Peggy" R. Buker, 90, of Grants Pass died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Spring Village Celebration of Life will be held Friday, February 22, 2013, 10:00 AM at Stephens Family Chapel with Pastor Ken Bern officiating. She was born on July 9, 1922 in Spokane, Washington, but her family lived in Sandpoint, Idaho at the time. Peggy attended University of Montana & Whitman College as a double major. She received Masters degrees in both Music and Psychology. Peggy married Samuel L. Buker on September 2, 1947 in Missoula, Montana he preceded her in death in 1990. She worked as a school psychologist for Chicago School District while her husband Samuel finished his doctorate. Peggy then stayed home to raise her five children and worked as a piano teacher. In 1981 they moved to Grants Pass from Rockville, MD. Peggy was a 60-year member of the PEO. She served on the Josephine County Mental Health Advisory Board and worked with Special Olympics. She enjoyed Gardening, photography, sewing, knitting and cooking. Survivors include 5 children, Christopher John Buker of Berwyn Heights, MD; Karen A. McKay of Umpqua, OR; Patrick Buker of Grants Pass, Daniel Buker of Ketchikan, AK, Charles Buker of Grants Pass; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
