Mabel Graham, 92, of Grants Pass died Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at Three Rivers Community Hospital. A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at River Valley Community Church, with David Mathis, pastor, officiating. Private inurnment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Stephens Family Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.stephensfc.com. Graham was born June 1, 1916, in Cuervo, N.M., to David and Amy Ferguson. She graduated from Tucumcari High School in Tucumcari, N.M. On June 11, 1938, in Lordsburg, N.M., she married Harvey Graham, who died before her. For most of her life, she worked as a homemaker and a seamstress, making hundreds of quilts for a variety of charities. Nine years ago, she moved to Grants Pass from Hemet, Calif. She was a member of River Valley Community Church since moving to Grants Pass. Throughout the years, she volunteered by teaching Sunday school classes, leading girls auxiliary in the Southern Baptist Church, and as a leader for youth church camps. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, embroidery, music, reading and spending time with her family. Survivors include two sons, Ray Graham of Thermal, Calif., and David Graham of Grants Pass; two daughters, Betty Ferwalt of Albany, and Susan Wilcox of Houston; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
