Louis "Lou" Fontana, 85 of Grants Pass died January 11, 2011 at his home in Grants Pass, Oregon. Services with military honors will be held at 3PM on Wednesday, January 26th, at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon He was born on October 4, 1925 in Portland, Oregon to Louis and Agnes Fontana. He served in the United States Navy during WWII from 1941 until his honorable discharge in 1944. On October 3, 1953 in Portland, Oregon he married Betty Bare. He worked for many years Biltwell Furniture in Portland, for a few years he owned and operated a shoe repair business. Lou and Betty moved to Grants Pass from Portland in 2004. They attended Redwood Country Church. He enjoyed bowling, he was currently bowling in three different leagues he also enjoyed wild life and being very active. In addition to his wife survivors include three children, Jim Fontana of Grants Pass; daughters Louise Fontana and Lenor Sturgis both of Portland, Oregon; 1 grandchild.
