Lorina Mae Maupin

January 16, 1945 — February 7, 2016

Lorina Maupin was born January 16th, 1945 and joined the Angels on February 7th, 2016. She will be missed by many. Lorina was everyone's friend and mom. She especially loved kids. It didn't matter whose they were, she'd "take em, love em" as if they were her own. She had a huge heart and would help anyone in need. Lorina was a faithful church attender, read her Bible, prayed and tithed. Born in Alberque, New Mexico, she graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1964. She then moved to Eatonville, Washington where she loved to play on Silver Lake and roller skate in an old barn while studying to be an LPN. She met Floyd Maupin in 1969 and they moved to Grants Pass where they bought property from Harold and Pat Maupin. They built their home onto an old shepherds cabin, where they raised three kids. Both Floyd and Lorina would later pass away in their cabin home. In the 1980s Lorina worked at Highland House Rehabilitation Center, Gardenview Motel and Apartments, and also provided in-home foster care. Her favorite flower was the carnation. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Jeannie Boulaouz and Lori Allen; son, Gary Maupin; along with 6 grandchildren, Michael Maupin, Jayme Baker, David Dean, Matthew Alto, Jasmine Soderlund, and Lillianna Maupin; and 7 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at Edgewater Christian Fellowship, 101 Assembly Circle, on March 24th at 5:30 p.m. Followed by a potluck dinner, please bring something to share. An account has been set up at Evergreen Federal Bank.
