Lois Marie Piatt, 68, of Grants Pass, died Monday, June 30, 2008 at her home. Services will held in Portland at a later date. Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to the Art Ehrmann Cancer Fund, 1623 Gateway Circle South, Grove City, OH 43123. She was born to Harry and Virginia Pierce on Sept. 4, 1939 in Long Beach, Calif. She attended schools in Palo Alto, Calif., graduated from Palo Alto High School and attended Mt. Angel College. She married Alven Piatt in Portland on Dec. 10, 1988. The couple moved to Grants Pass from Portland in 2007. Piatt was an active member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles for more than 20 years and served as a state officer for the last nine years. She was voted a state grandmother at the Oregon State Convention in mid-June. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and making hand crafts. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Daniel Zielinski and Donald Zielinski, both of Salem, William Zielinski of Pendleton, and Robert Piatt of Portland; four daughters, Teresa Speis of Bend, Dana German of Portland, Shari Ibarra of Las Vegas, and Angela Howard of Arlington, Texas; brother, James Pierce of Sparks, Nev.; and 17 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
