Lewis Anthony Tagliere, 64, of Grants Pass, Oregon passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved-ones at Royale Gardens on Tuesday, June 15, 2010. A celebration of Lewâs life will be held at Stephens Family Chapel on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 4:00 PM. Rev. Christine M. Carpenter will conduct the Memorial Celebration. Instead of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the American Cancer Society, designated for Lymphoma Research. Tagliere was born August 1, 1945 in Burbank, California. He grew up in the San Fernando Valley and graduated from Van Nuys High School in Southern California. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and received an Honorable Discharge in 1969. He received a Bachelorâs Degree in Speech Communication from California State University at Fullerton, going on to manage a variety of businesses, and ultimately own Olâ Champion Factory Outlet. During his early retirement he continued to manage the companyâs on-line store. For three-decades, living in Grants Pass, he supported and participated in community affairs and served as: an officer in the Towne Center and in the Chamber of Commerce; conducted mediation; was a member of the Anti-Drug Council; and did what he enjoyed most, sharing his skills as a Small Business Administration counsellor and teaching Small Business Courses at Rogue Community College. He is survived by: his wife of 40-years, Lynda; his three sons, Todd of New Jersey, Joshua of Portland and Anthony and daughter-in-law Dina and Granddaughter Isabella of Grants Pass; his mother June Tagliere of Grants Pass; and sister Christine Carpenter of Lebanon, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his father, âTagâ of Grants Pass.
