On May 9, 2021, surrounded by family, LeRoy Delbert Jacobs
(affectionately "Red" to many) went to be with the Lord at the age of 90.
Born August 23, 1930, to Wylie and Bernice Jacobs in Parker, SD.
He served in the US Navy for 3 years before marrying
his wife of 57 years in Roseburg, OR, on March 26, 1954.
Soon after, they moved to Eureka, CA, where their first son was born,
and LeRoy began working in the plywood industry.
In 1955, they moved to Grants Pass, OR, where their youngest son was born
and where he was on the first crew at Custom Plywood.
LeRoy enjoyed camping, landscape maintenance, and woodworking.
He served at and attended River Valley Church for over 60 years.
His wife, Carolyn, preceded him in death, as well as all 4 of his siblings.
He is survived by sons, Larry and Robert (Andrea); granddaughter, Elena;
grandsons, Ryan and Tyler; and 2 great-grandsons, Aiden and Joshua.
A memorial service will be held at the home and officiated by
Robert Jacobs on Father's Day, June 20, 2021, at 4 PM.
