Kim R. Franklin, 56, of Grants Pass passed away Thursday, May 29, 2008, at Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland, Oregon. Services will be planned for a later date. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. Kim was born on February 3, 1952 in Delta, Utah to Raleigh and Margaret Franklin. He graduated high school from Colfax High School in Colfax, California. Kim married Barbara Blickenstaff on April 11, 1976 in Chico, California. In 1977 they moved to Grants Pass from Corvallis. Kim worked most of his life as a carpenter, surveyor and a stay at home dad. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching, gardening, cooking and reading. Kim was a member of the Josephine County Sportsman Club and Jefferson Public Radio. Survivors include his wife Barbara Franklin of Grants Pass; two daughters, Angeline Baker and Stephanie Franklin both of Albany, Oregon; brother Jerry Franklin of Edmonds, WA and two grandsons, Lane and Drew Baker of Albany, OR. He is preceded in death by his parents
