Kathleen Marie Rimmer

October 14, 1955 — January 17, 2018

Kathleen "Kathy" Marie Rimmer was born in Richmond, CA. on October 14, 1955. After a short, severe respiratory illness, she died in ICU at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford, receiving excellent care. Services honoring her life were held in Grants Pass at Stephens Family Chapel and a graveside service in Merced, CA. Kathy was dearly loved by all who knew her. She was a sweet, loving, giving woman who most recently worked for Asante Lifeline where she had been for 18 years. Her clients adored her because she would go above and beyond the call of duty with her kindness being extended generously. She had previously been Volunteer & Bereavement Coordinator for the hospice that she and her husband helped found in Fall River Mills, CA. Prior to that, she had been in medical clerical work most of her life. Kathy was especially sensitive to grieving persons, understanding their feelings and emotions. With her loving and supportive personality, she could make a stranger cry in the aisles of a grocery store if she sensed they were emotionally hurting. She was also known for her smile, laughter, humor and love of life. Her family was the most important thing to her, especially her grandchildren. She loved canning special pickles, making jewelry to sell downtown Grants Pass, making jams, cooking, and making unique blankets for each of the grandchildren who referred to her as "Kappy", a name given to her by her grandfather. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Gene Rimmer, daughter Sheree (Neal) Schmidt, son Nicholas (Stacey) Martin, seven grandchildren and two sisters Gwen Breinig and Debby (Michael) Stephens and her father Earl McMilin and preceded in death by her mother Betty Smith. She will be sorely missed by everyone.
