Katherine Fallow, 82, of Grants Pass died July 6, 2011 at Three Rivers Hospital. A private viewing was held at Stephens Family Chapel. She was born June 30, 1929 in Adams, Oregon, the fifth of six children raised on a wheat farm near Pendleton. Her parents, Laura and Edward Enbysk, were from first generation Finnish immigrants. Katherine graduated high school in Pendleton, Oregon before receiving an AA degree from Eastern Oregon State College. In 1949 she married W. Dale Fallow and lived for a while in La Grande, Oregon and Caldwell, Idaho before settling in Murphy in 1951, and then the Merlin area in 1953 where she resided until her death. She was a full time mother and housekeeper, raising six children. She enjoyed cooking, canning, family picnics, rustic trips to the cabin, sending gifts to the many family members, and keeping up with current events. The wonderful community of home health caregivers provided great companionship and allowed her to stay in her home in recent years. As a full time dialysis patient, she developed admiration and friendship with employees and patients at the Davita clinic, never complaining about the ordeal. Surviving family members include daughters Dalene (Redding) and Rebecca (Reno); sons Dennis (Sammamish, WA), Gary (Corvallis), Scott (Yorba Linda, CA) and Jeffrey (Truckee, CA); brother Howard Enbysk (Anchorage); 21 nieces and nephews; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Katherine was preceded in death by her husband (2008) and four siblings.
