Joy Elizabeth Burton

Joy Elizabeth Burton, 76 of Grants Pass passed away Monday, June 6, 2011 at her home with her family. Proceeded in death by her loving Husband Charles Burton of 47 years. She was born December 23, 1934 in Cardington, Ohio to Howard and Violet White. She grew up in Ohio and married Charles William Burton on December 21, 1951. They moved to California, and then moved to Grants Pass in 1966. She was a faithful member of the Apostolic Faith Church. Joy also loved Bluegrass and Southern Gospel Music. She was the DJ on KAJO Radio 18 years for "Sunday Gospel Music Hour." Drove school bus for 22 years and worked as mill worker until she retired. Joy Also worked at Gottschalks department store and was a professional cake decorator. She was a devoted mother and wife. Survivors include: 3 Daughters, Janie Burton, Judy Burton, and Jeannie Ferrell of Grants Pass. Two sons: Jim Burton of Grants Pass and Joe Burton of Port Angeles, WA. 9 grand kids and 17 great grandkids.
