Joseph Jay Elliott

Joseph Jay Elliott 68 of Grants Pass passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Three Rivers Community Hospital. Services with military honors will be held at a later date at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA He was born on December 16, 1943 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Joseph and Cleo Suchy. Joseph served in the United States Marine Corp from July 31, 1961 until his honorable discharge on July 30, 1964. He attended college at Cal State Long Beach and University of Phoenix where he received his Bachelor's Degree. He worked for 32 years for Douglas Aircraft retiring in 2007. Joseph worked the last two years locally for ESAM. On October 7, 2006 in Reno, Nevada he married Dollie Cooper who survives. They moved to Grants Pass in 2006 from Santa Rosa, California. He enjoyed shooting, hunting, golf, archaeology and spending time with family and friends. In addition to his wife survivors include 5 children Bret Elliott of Greeley, CO; Brian Elliott of Johnstown, CO; Rachelle Boone of Abingdon, MD; Richard Elliott of Mission Viejo, CA and Nancy Elliott of Fountain Valley, CA; Eleven grandchildren.
