Johnnie Franklin Barry

Johnnie Franklin Barry, 78, of Grants Pass died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at Three Rivers Community Hospital. No services are planned. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. He was born Jan. 26, 1930, in Eufaula, Okla., to Richard and Annie Barry. In the early 1950s, he moved to Southern Oregon. He served in the Navy during the Korean War from Jan. 11, 1951, until his honorable discharge on Nov. 9, 1954. On June 12, 1976, in Reno, he married Donna Marie Lackner, who survives. He worked in the logging and mill industries. He enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, three sons, a brother, a sister, 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
